new driver, how many points are you allowed?

You're allowed 5 points within your first two years. If you get a sixth point you lose your licence.

if you just passed your test i thought you are allowed 6 points within 2 years, and then you lose licence.

but my friend went through bus lane got 3 points. the officer who pulled him over said if you get 6 points in 12 months you lose your licence.

this validates my point but is it wrong?

Was the bus lane one of those you can drive in out of hours?! Might be worth checking out tbh.

And yes its 5 points and on your 6th you lose you licence (or 6 and on your 7th you lose it meh I don't know)

The officer is also right, if you get 6 points in 12 months you lose your license, you also lose your license for 6 points in 13 months, 14, 15, 16 and 17 months of within getting your driving license. ;)

3 Points for driving within a bus lane?
AND the bus lane isnt a bus lane as such its more like a 10metre bus only stretch.

he went through there because there are width restrictions on the side that he should drive through

it was also at 11.45 at night

i got caught driving down a bus only road in Peterborough last month. Got a fixed £30 fine and no points at it was my first offence. Only been driving for 2 months.

The police man told me if i came from the other end of the street i would have got £60 fine and 6 points! instant ban then :(

anyone know if it's ok for motorbikes to ride in the bus lane while filtering?
No it's not, unless it is in ine of the pilot scheme bus lanes in London and marked up as allowing bikes in. Although I believe Bristol allows bikes to use bus lanes freely.
But they are the exception, most bus lanes do not allow motorbikes to use them, even if filtering.

10 points for old ladies, 55 for the post/milk man (He possibly may be your real dad, deserves a bonus), 120 for anyone wearing fake burberry, sovereign rings and a bright white tracksuit.

Bus lanes are for busses, cycle lanes are for cycles. They're pretty anal about that it seems. On your 6th point its test retake time!!
