Hey peeps!

Just managed to find time in my life to pass my driving test. woo!:p

What would you suggest new-cheap car? Or old cheap car that will probably fall apart? Im also struggling to find a car with decent insurance but my mum tells me there are new cars with free insurance?!!?

Advice would be much appreciated!! :):)

Fiesta 1.25.

Build up some NCB on your own policy and you'll be able to get something a bit better in a year or two :)

The buying a new car idea is great (awful) but the one downpoint i'll mention is the cost of buying new will likely outweigh any savings on insurance! ;)

EDIT: Oh by the way congratulations on passing! If you're over 25 it should help with insurance.

Isn't that awful? I'm thinking "role on september" when i'll be 25 and cheaper insurance, wishing 6 months of my life away!

Ironically thats exactly what I am doing at the moment after passing 2 weeks ago :P

Although not the fastest thing in the world the 1.25 Zetec engines are quite pokey :D

Gratz on passing your test bud

Another vote here for the fiesta, makes good sense imo - they're good for your 1st car and will allow you to build up a few years NCB

Want my advice, give it about six months as your insurance will drop. If your 17 you might wanna buy some vaseline as your going to be drybummed.

endsleigh is a good insurance quote site. Do a quote now and give us the price you get then try it again with you 6months older and having held your licence for 6 months.

I like 106's the best for superminis, I think the phase 2 ones are sexeh and they are cheap to insure.

Im 21 in April, ive got insurance on a Megane 1.8 Deisel for now which is my mums car. So that will do for now, i should be getting a car for my birthday so that will be good, just trying to keep cost of insurance down. Not bothered about getting a posh car for now. Thanks ill look into Fiesta :)
