New e-bike recommendation please?

If you're referring to the hybrid One44 or the hybrid One55

Personally, if you're going for a Cube I'd go for the One44.

I believe the One55 is soon to be discontinued and uses the older gen4 motor. The One44 uses the newer gen5 motor.

Cubes carbon frame quality can be a bit questionable, there have been a few reports of the motor mounts breaking on the gen4 frames, (this is something I'm keeping a keen eye on being a hybrid 160 owner) as well as some other small quality issues with the carbon finish around shock mounts and head tubes, hopefully the motor mount issue has been resolved with the new gen5 motor as it uses different mounting pattern and through bolts to secure the motor to the frame.

You do get a lot of bang for your buck with Cube, and for the most part they are a good.

Note, there is a 2025 version of the One44 that uses the older gen4 motor. Note the newer version with the gen5 motor has the new frame design with the shock mounted to the top tube.

Research the company as I'm not familiar with it, but this is a good deal.

Another thing to consider is if you require a removable battery or not, personally if a bike has an integrated battery that can't be charged away from the bike, it's a dealbreaker for me.

Think I'd be a medium on that bike, and they're out of stock unfortunately.

I think a removable battery is a necessity for me too, not sure the Mrs would appreciate me charging a full bike in the living room...

The whoe thing is retraded imo...

They don't sell cars locked to motorway speeds... It's not on Bosch to limit the motors....
Why stop there then, why have limited motorbikes (50cc/125cc) etc, why not just let everyone do as they please?

I assume the authorities have sensibly pressured them into restricting the ebikes as there is no sensible way to police them currently.

Edit:
And while I've nothing against ebikes, having frequently been tailgated by one through my local 30mph speed limits, it's frankly stupid that they aren't required to be insured etc if you want to travel at such speeds

Ebike is a general term, I'm specifically talking about pedal assisted ebikes, which are the only version legally allowed on public roads, they are often around the 25kg mark and are assisted up to 16.6mph.
Unless you are lance Armstrong it's very difficult to sustain speeds above the assisted speed limit for long durations of time.
On a 10kg road bike you could easily travel at speeds 25mph+ on leg power alone, so the 16.6 assisted speed limit for pedal assist bikes makes no sense, I'd be more than happy for the limit to be raised to 20mph, as 16.6 is just a bit to slow for road use, assistance beyond that is a bit reckless and needs better policing.

Throttle assisted ebikes should be policed a lot better, there's no place for them on trails or roads without some form of insurance and to be honest are a nuisance and are giving pedal assist bikes a bad name.
