Any thoughts on this ?

I only get 25- 27mpg av so not looking forward to getting less !

And i hope it wouldnt fail the emissions test due to the higher co2 levels

ok just skimmed it but....
- adding additives to reduce motorists carbon emissions
- could increase fuel consumption by 10%
- more fuel burned to get same distance so increased emissions (but might be more or less than what we have now.

seems like it's just swings and roundabouts really.... bit pointless maybe? only thing that would come of it would be more money to the companies/government through fuel tax as we have to buy more of the stuff....

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

As in, literally no brains have been employed in the thought process.

Isn't this the same stuff they've been using in France for years with no problem? If so then I've filled up with it many times and didn't notice any difference.

Ever filled up on it enough to notice whether you were getting 10% less economy?

Well the last time I used it I did around 2000 miles on it and was quite impressed with my MPG considering the car was heavily laden and a lot of the journey was spent at high speed. The 500 miles I did immediately after that trip were in similar conditions but on standard fuel and I didn't notice any difference at all.

It's very bad for older cars and motorcycles due to the ethanol degrading certain rubber components, such as fuel lines, tanks etc.

Widely used in Australia, noticed no difference between E10 and regular 95 economy wise.

Only a problem if you have an old car, similar to leaded and unleaded petrol.

E10 is cheaper than 95 by 1-2%.

I use E10 when I'm in France; I usually average 2 mpg more on E10 than I do on super unleaded.

Almost certainly due to the driving conditions rather than the fuel. It's rather unlikely that a fuel containing less energy is going to provide better mileage.

VW seems to have a few that cant take it
