New E92 3-Series Coupe

Another reason why, M3 cab aside, my next car is probably going to be an Audi. I think Bangle has been 'promoted' upstairs and isn't directly involved in the 3 series design; I don't think it's as aweful as the 5/7 series but it's bland bordering on ugly that's for sure. My first glance at the original thumbnails made me thing ST220 to be honest.

I'd like to see the interior though. The inards of the new 5 are truely aweful in design and quality; even the 1 series interior makes it look bad.
 
Interior of the new 3-series is no better Beepcacke. I've driven one recently and it felt cheap with some very suspect plastics being used.

Along the same lines as they did with the M5 I suppose, it'll be so bonkers in the power & ability stakes, nobody will really give a monkeys what it looks like.

That pretty much sums up the e60 M5 for me and I doubt I'll react to the e92 M3 in a different way.

Can I start a "Post your insults to Chris Bangle here" thread please? or will I get a holiday for such tactics? :p :D
 
I detested the 5 series at first, but the looks really grew on me. Unfortunately I think the same will be true of the new 3 series.
 
They are designs thats grow on you, but Im not sure that they will age to well. Not like true classics such as the E30 and the CSL. Technically still very impressive, the new turbo 3 litre straight 6 should be fantastic.

I've not been in one of the new ones yet, such a shame they have really lost the plot IMO. And with the changes to the extended warranty program I think they're looking at losing quite a large chunk of their customer base.
 
When the E36 replaced the E30 I hated the looks of it but hoped they would grow on me, which they did (but only a little). Somehow I don't see myself warming to this new one which is a pain as I fancy an M3 next and in a couple of years the current E46 version will probably be too old.

Ok it's not particularly pretty but it does just look vey similar to what a 2 door of the current saloon would be like, were you expecting different??

Personally I'd have love to have seen a mini 6 series clone, I think a lot of people were expecting this as a lot of the photochops mags have done have been very 6 series esque.
 
I'm surprised and confused at the same time. The new 3 series model is not E92 for a start, its E90 and coupe images of the E90 are far nicer!

In addition to the new (unreal E92), here is an ACTUAL M3 E90

The E90 M3 is a beast :eek: (EDIT:Just saw that the pic was photoshoped. we can only hope its like that)


The E92 everyones talking about is the next one on i think. Its in testing and devlopment stages but we shouldnt expect it out any time too soon

Er wasn't that an old photochop that was hanging around ages ago?

The lines of the body look far too much like the E46 shape and not enough like the new saloons.

If it is the new M3 then looks cool, but until I see proper launch articles I'm still sceptical :)
