Hi, I am in the process of filling my loop with mayhems pastel. Every the was going well until the liquid reached the radiator when it comes out, the liquid is p
Flowing really slowly. However I think the pump is the problem it has 2 cables from it, one molex and the other is a 4 pin PWm header which isn't plugged in is the fact that the PWM cable isn't plugged in mean that the pump isn't pushing hard enough? I can hear a sound from the pump however, its extremely quiet. Any help plleeeeaaaasssee

think they run at about 50-60% without the cable plugged in.

should be enough unless you've got some major restrictions. describe your loop a bit more but it should be fine....

My EK D5 PWM pump runs at full speed if the PWM cable isn't connected.

How are you filling the loop e.g. are you filling the res & then sealing it or are you leaving it open? Have you filled the loop completely?

What's the loop consist of? What radiator is it?

Sorry for bombarding you with questions, but a little more info is needed to help

My pwm fans run full pelt if the controller isn't plugged in Id assume the pump should be at 100%.

From what you describe it does sound like batfing is right and that you've refitted the fillcap before cycling the pump.

Could be a chance of a mechanical blockage in the rad but I've never seen one so its either going to be the above or a big old sod of airlock. In which case just wiggle the case when running the pump.

At full pelt the d5 will drain any res very quickly so be quick with the turn off as you don't want to run it dry.

Just to throw another airlock scenario into the mix:

I have a DDC with an EK top. The res is at about the same height but the tubing goes downhill a little bit first. The problem I had was that the pump was airlocked. In my case carefully loosening the port blank (the EK top has an additional inlet on top) let the air out so the pump could actually move the coolant through.

Even on the slowest setting, the D5 Pump is very powerful. The liquid shouldn't be flowing slowly and shouldn't be leaking.

Might be worth taking a few pictures showing were it is leaking
