New En-suite

Taking shape. The tiles look lighter in day 4 pictures. Could just be grout haze or its just brighter.
Looking good though :)

Looks sooo much better than the original mate. Are you keeping the original toilet seat though? That's quite unique :) (jokes)

It's 98% finished

Just a gloss white cabinet to be fitted above the toilet and a photo black-out-blind to go by the window.

A close up of the fleck mirror & quartz floor.
The floor is plain black with no light. Add light and the mirror & quartz add sparkle.
The underfloor heating works really well. An external LCD thermostat shows the floor temp and you can set individual day start/stop times & the max temp.

The shower panel : A larger shower head, 3 body jets and a smaller hand shower.
The shower enclosure is three Mocha Vistelle high gloss panels with aluminium edge and corner profiles. Above the shower is an LED light extractor fan.

A breakdown of the items. The total overall cost was £5832

Issues
We ordered the suite in October without consulting the bathroom installer. We originally ordered a floating sink and it wasn't until he came to fit it that he informed us that the wall was too thin to mount it onto and there was also no room to hide the pipes. So we had to re-order the sink and toilet set at a higher cost, plus £50 for next day delivery :(

Next on the list is all new windows for the house and a garage to second lounge/cinema room conversion. But they are 2+ years away.

Looking lovely. Nice floor, I had a similar one put in a kitchen.

I love waterfall taps :) Bit different.

Nice clean modern lines.

Nice work mate! Underfloor heating is one of the best investments i made a few years back. Love it on a winters morning.. in fact any morning. No cold tile shock ever again :)

We got 3 quotes and went for the middle costing one. The overal labour charge is more relevant than the cost of one part of it. It took 2 guys 5 days to complete the job.

Looks great, very modern and clean. 6k seems entirely reasonable for a job like that. People shouldn't forget that labour costs have profit margins built in too and stripping a room probably includes a charge for skip and disposal of old fixtures.

What's powering your shower? mavity pump / unvented cylinder / straight from combi?

Any aspect of their work that you're not happy with?

The skip was an extra £90 which I haven't included in the above costs.

This is powering the shower

Nothing really.
The only annoying aspect was the inconvenience of having them in the house, 8am to 7-8pm. Also, there was a lot of dust generated and dispersed around the bedroom :(

Very pleased overall, had my first shower in it this morning and it was lush, the floor was a pleasant 33c :)

Shame about your choice of pump. Salamander have gone massively down hill recently. .6 bar seems like a low pressure too. Liking the overall design though :)

I had a 1.5 bar Salamander pump in my last house, was the ct50 too iirc. It was quiet, reliable, and cheap. Whilst 1.5 bar won't blast your skin off, it's a lot better than a combi shower and was probably matched to the size of the op's cold and hot water storage tanks.

Not sure where you get 0.6 bar from, or was that a typo?

The only thing I'd query is the markup. These are 111 quid in screwfix and op has been charged 277?!

The pump is 1.5 bar which is plenty enough. I don't like getting blasted by water, fit a jet wash if you do ;)
The aim with the shower was to be drenched comfortably and with 81 large water jets it does it's job there :)

If I could fit a jet wash in my bathroom I would, I love stupidly powerful showers, the kind which take 2 seconds to completely drench you/ wash all the soap off. You can shower in like 2 minutes with that.
