The 'value' line could be good for regular users if the price isn't too bad, since they have a 3 year warranty. 1Tb platters too

Also don't forget that Raptors are 2.5" after you remove the heatsink. Not sure what that will do to warranty and reliability though.

1tb platters that have been limited to 800gb per platter for faster performance. means they use an extra platter (could be wrong though)

The specs for the value range says:

"Heads/Disks: 6/3 (3TB), 4/2 (2TB), 2/1 (1TB)"

Which says to me 1Tb platters running at a full 500MB/side. No?
