New Fermi performance figures, legit or troll ?

It's an honour to meet you, Huang! Is it true the GTS 250 will be the GTS 360? :p

Actually its being renamed to GTS 375 plus edition.

EDIT: Oops thats the one with the PhysX co-processor (previously known as the 9800GX2).

I forgot to say this in my original post, but the guy who posted that information claims to work for Nvidia as an engineer.

i dont understand why an engineer would be allowed to release this information ? surely its down to someone a bit more important and also if it were from an engineer he would surely loose his job ?

dont listen to him, listen to me I'm the CEO.

GF100 100% faster than the 5870
GF100 50% faster than the 5970

at least the last trolling attempt had more effort into it. pretty graphs:p

its amazing the internets - so many programmers who never have bugs and wrk on defence systems so they are perfect, or work on medical applications and never have design problems and chip designers who spend crap ammount of time on the interwebs giving away secrit sauce ...

I thought he had left Nvidia - technical NDA lifted 4th Jan for him ...

If all they have benchmarked is DIRT2, crysis and AvP3 then these are probably about correct... the 380 specs put it around 40-45% faster than the 360 which is intended to go head to head with the 5870... and crossfire scaling isn't great in most of these titles - averaging about 34% scaling at 1920x in dirt2 and AvP3 - not sure crysis off hand... dunno if they mean a cryengine 2 tech demo (in which case it probably don't even have a proper crossfire setup) or warhead.

where or where do you get this misinformation from? We had this argument in the leaked specs thread where the fermi was only a few percent quicker in all the pixel/fillrate speeds compared to a gtx295 yet on some basis of the number of transitors or something you put it 40% quicker?

You failed to justify your 40% in that thread so please don;t start again.:(

put it this way, just say this is a troll thing, and wait till the card is tested properly rather than fixed troll like graphs

IF the high end Fermi card is even only a few percent higher in pixel/fillrate, etc. than the 295 thats going to translate to a fairly decent potential increase in performance... without the reliance on SLI... you have to remember that they've made certain changes to the shader pipeline as well... which automatically gets them around another 30 odd percent better efficency in anything shader heavy potentially boosting performance a reasonable margin above the raw spec difference as well.

EDIT: The 380 is 40-45% faster on paper than the 360 and the 360 is the card thats supposed to go up against the 5870.

Lol no chance imo, but if fermi does come anywhere near 46% faster I'll buy one and you can all quote me on that :p

Those figures are wrong. It should read 55 degree's with passive cooling and room temperature with a fan!

seems like a good game :)

anyway how the hell they got them numbers for fermi on the game avp3?

Well I would assume that card manufacturers will have some sort of access to get some 'demo' or game engine or some other part of the game to test their cards with ? Just a guess of course.

I'm with Tom. If Rroff and the Op's post is right and the card is 46% quicker than a 5870 and costs less than a GTX295 (£370) I will actually buy one as well.
