New Folder, in need of help!

Hey, just started F@H, And it's having trouble starting...
I opened up the F@H login Fahmon, and it says
Error while reading C:\Documents and Settings\<computer name>\My Documents\Folding@Home Core1\work\FAHlog.txt!

Same for Core2 aswell... What's wrong..? :s

are u using win smp/linux/ordinary text version??

Have you set it up in 2 seperate folders for 2 seperate cores?

If you are running vista remember to run the .exe with administrator privlegies

What folder are you pointing to in FaHMon? It should be at C:\Documents and Settings\<computer name>\My Documents\Folding@Home Core1\ and FahMon will do the rest, however I suspect that its more likely to be the problem JamesM mentioned.

Use the .zip Fahmon package.

Yeh, i got it working the other day, forgot to come say Thanks

Yeggstry had it right, i was pointing it to the 'work' folder.

I have another question.

I'm only 29% through one of the WU's. And it's taking up 80MB, fair enough it's not that much even when completed... but after i've done a few it's gonna start building up... Do these files get sent away or something when it's done? Or will the folder just keep getting bigger and bigger...

nope once the unit is completed - it gets packaged back up and sent back to the server and you get another one downloaded and carry on from there.

No problem

I had the same problem myself so its nice to pass on the knowledge.

The system will only give you a new WU when you have uploaded the one you were given previously. Which is a pain when it takes 4 hours to upload the finished WU

Does it automatically upload it when it's done..?

I think i've completed two but my stats say nothing on the site...

Odd.

EOC says you've uploaded one unit but didn't get any any credit for it. Are you making the deadlines?

You need to give it a few hours until the stats have updated. It might be worth checking the logs (posting here as well) to verify it has been uploaded.
