I've never played around with folding, but seeing as I'm bored I've been reading through this forum for the first time in 3 years and thought I'd join the fun. Read the guide and have a question.....

Machine ID ( 1-8 ) 1

I assume if I have my laptop and desktop running this one of the machines should be set to 2?

Cheers

Yep, each machine will need a unique identifier, they don't have to be consecutive

Dosen't the machine id specify which CPU/core the client is assigned to. Ie if you have a single cpu/core it should be set to 1 and if you have dual cpu/core you should have one client with the ID set to 1 and another with the id set to 2. Or have I got this totally wrong

So each machine dosen't need a unique identifier, just each cpu/core within a given machine?

Yeah that's how I would imagin it works. Both my machines being single core, it works out the same either way :)

You have to turn in your first WU then wait for the stats server to update. The official stats update about every hour or so and the EOC stats update every three hours.
