Hi, can anyone suggest a decent, cheap freeview box, im fed up with my second supermarket cheap one crashing on me all the time!! should have bought a semi-decent one 1st time round! so less then £50, that should get a stable one, right?? i dont want a pvr or anything as my pc does all that! and i want a seperate box for my tv rather then streaming from my pc just in case i want to have the tv on whilst playing a game or sumthing. Cheers for any help/suggestions.

humax f2 fox2, sony vtx 800 are the 2 best standard freeview boxes out there.

i was put off panasonic freeview boxes after tuct20 on how slowwww it was but the 41 i see in work seems to be a lot better.

I can recommend the Panasonic TU-CT41 as a reasonable box, I had one for a while as a stop gap before we got NTL cable. Like most freeview boxes its not perfect but it did the job for me quite nicely.

I've seen them at bargain prices just recently so if you shop around a bit you should be able to pick one up for less than £50.

I just Bought a Sagem (can't remember the model)... Best £35 I've spent in a long time!... Vibrant colours (on RGB), Very Fast Tuning, Passkey Lockable Set-up menu (stops anyone fiddling with my settings! :D ).

our old Matsui 'Top-Up-TV' one keeps crashing and re-setting its self!... so thats now in the spare room!
