So after 5 years and multiple visits, I've given up on my new build front door

to cut this down abit, after what is now 5 visits and a lot of time wasted in terms of "adjusting" and then removing and reinstalling etc my front door still does not fit, the hinges look like they are f...ked and the gaps are uneven all the way around. This also includes the fact that on various visits I've asked them to look at what appears to be a gap / leak at the bottom of the door where some spacers appear to be and no sealant seems to exist

Dare I ask who people would recommend to either come visit with a view to repair once and for all or even at this point eat up the cost of a new door and roughly what that may be? please note I have considered buying and replacing myself but I fear the fact that if I get the frame out and cant get the new one in.. its a very expensive and sleepless time

Securing the frame correctly is the single most important factor, and where experience plays a huge part.

I suggest Endurance Doors from personal experience, however Solidoor and Rockdoors also come highly regarded.

You will be looking circa £1500 fully fitted from a reputable supplier.

I was looking at doing something similar myself, will they replace the whole frame bit as well?

My patio door has a wooden frame and it's sort of falling apart, I'd rather have something that is no real maintenance if possible.

Front door is OK but it seems to let the cold in a fair bit in the winter, hoping a better fitting/newer door would solve that.

I'd be happy to pay £2.5k I think to get quality doors to replace them both if that includes all fitting and such.

Yes they rip the lot out.

I'm currently going through this fun, I've had quotes from 2k through to over 6k... I'm currently going down the Rockdoor route I think...

Nice one thanks!

If it's not too much trouble what did you wind up with? Put up any pics anywhere here?
Sorry for brevity of previous post (I do work occasionally  :p). We had a wooden door/door frame. It was actually leeching (?) water into the house and had created a damp area on the plasterboard.

I knew I wanted either an Endurance or Solidor (too many other options). I found my supplier on the Endurance website. Frankly she was "dirt cheap" because it was her side gig - which didn't massively bother me as the warranty is backed my Endurance, and she was just going to outsource fitting. The lad who came was an artisan carpenter (whatever that means) so I have confidence he did a roughly OK job.

The door seems absolutely solid and hasn't budged since install. I need to make good the render and internal decoration (my request).

My endurance doors weren't great and lots of quality issues, but that was during the Covid period and I think they had issues sourcing materials, doesn't excuse poop QC though. After support could have been better, given up now.

That’s the issue

Technically my current door has a 10 year warranty but after 5
Or 6 visits it’s just a pain in the arse and getting worse

Christ I thought I'd get a quote for an Endurance door.
Pentland door with half glass either side of the house, £2,742.58

That's far too high

Guess its a starter though pal, I'm not overly fussed on the price just need mine fixed

Reached out to a couple of the recommendations above and approached a local independant place so will see what comes of it

On Saturday I measured up and got a price for a Sterling Solidoor and delivered it's £1,579 fitted it's £2,559. 10% less than the Endurance door
I got a quote elsewhere for the Solidoor and it came to £3,250.
