new game

squad looks interesting, like a better battlefield. I miss BF2 :(

For all of you looking at squad... while it's a future based effort, take a look at planetside 2, it's free (completely) and has... quite a bit of what you seem to be looking forward to in squad. The battles aren't just 50v50 though (more like 150v150, map size is more large island than decent sized town).

It has the whole "battles can vary bit" going on. It might end up being a massed foot zerg or one faction pulls armour which leads to yours rolling aircraft, enemy pulls AA, etc. There's a cash shop, yes, but the basic weapon loadout is decent/balanced and everything unlocks with experience (essentially). I never get why PS2 doesn't get a bit more love (maybe it's the learning curve, it's quite like counterstrike for learning the ropes).

Pick a class you like the look of (heavy is... pretty versatile and can take a beating, for fast experience gains go as an engineer, repair the max suited guys and throw certs into the medic tool as an upgraded medic tool will have you raking in experience VERY quickly. The medic also is the only class with access to a carbine which gives a nice, balanced weapon) buy a decent reflex sight for it's main weapon (or the HS/NV which is basically a night vision sight) and start throwing certs into the armour that reduces small arms fire damage.

For the factions: Terrans are kinda average with a "moar bullets" mentality. Vanu are all laser/plasma weapons with no bullet drop (near infinite velocity). New Conglomerate are about "bigger is better".

That should see you off to a decent start.

Manning the gun in a passing piece of armour is usually a good way to make easy kills (if the driver isn't stupid).

GTA V pc, would also like to say Battlefront but I know EA will screw it up on release with micro transactions and bugs.
