Hi guys i've been for a while making my build for gaming on a 23 screen(1080) 144 Hz. I will play games like CS GO, COD MW and the new titles that come out on ultra.

I have made this spec what do you say?

GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER BLACK GAMING 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD
970 EVO PLUS 1TB M.2 2280 PCI-E 3.0 X4 NVME SOLID STATE DRIVE
RYZEN 7 3700X EIGHT CORE 4.4GHZ (SOCKET AM4) PROCESSOR - RETAIL
TUF GAMING X570-PLUS WIFI (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 CHIPSET ATX MOTHERBOARD
CARBIDE SPEC-06 RGB MID-TOWER CASE - WHITE TEMPERED GLASS
H7 PLUS CPU HEATSINK WITH 2 X 120MM FANS
FOCUS GX-650 650W 80+ GOLD MODULAR POWER SUPPLY

NF-S12A PWM FAN - 120MM x2 for the front of the case
HYPERX PREDATOR RGB 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHZ DUAL CHANNEL KIT

Total of 1612£

Would you change anything? I need Wi-fi and bluetooth on the board.

Also i need a mechanical keyboard i was thinking of the Ducky one mini 2 RGB 60% which is 110£, any suggestion on this?

Regarding the brand of the 2070 super i am not sure also.

Regards

Hi Joaon, welcome.

It's good although you can save £300 easy and still get the same performance, and a better built case with Addressable RGB instead of plain RGB and better ventilation and 3x120mm fans already. Now when it comes to looks it's subjective. You might prefer the Corsair. But the Lian Li is worth a look first in case you like it too as you'd get better for the money.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,330.94 (includes shipping: £14.10)

The B450 Pro Carbon is a beast of a motherboard for the money and has Wifi+BT.

Samsung NVME M.2 SSDs are in a strange place right now. They don't have any PCIe Gen 4 models yet so they are not the fastest but still command a hefty premium. There's no real need for PCIe Gen 4 or the very fastest Gen 3 so can save with that WD Blue NVME (which you can find for £100 if you shop around).

Slightly better CPU cooler (still Cryorig) with a white shroud to match the case.

Cheaper Kingston RGB RAM, same speed/timings.

Budget 2070 Super Ventus OC model that gets good feedback on this forum.

The Phanteks AMP PSU is literally the Seasonic Focus and currently cheaper. Same 10 year warranty as well.

You can't currently get graphics card capable to running everything maxed in next-gen games.
What Nvidia's marketing "forgets" to tell is that using raytracing crashes performance down like MCAS 737 MAX with 30-50% framerate penalty.
No doubt in fall all current GPUs look bad in it.
Can't see GPUs of next-gen consoles being able to afford such performance loss from it.
So 2070 Super is the most expensive sense making card.

Samsung brand overprices their drives most or less seriously.
There's very little real world difference in loading times of Windows and games even between SATA SSDs and NVMe SSDs.
So there's no sense to pay any high GB prices.

If you don't need everything RGB even very affordable coolers would be good for 3700X.

So i think i can change the board and SSD.

Regarding the case, is the corsair not good enough? The cooler if i want to spend a bit more what can i go for?

Also, the graphics card going for 500+£ is not worth it?

I've been looking at some articles, the 3700 is not good for overclock right? #You will actually lose performance

I can stay with RGB stuff yes.

To Get The 3950X I Would Get The 9700k which is superior to amd for gaming due to single core speed. Nop?

Also I'm not sure about the reliability of the msi board, always used Asus which I'm quite comfortable with

It’s a much better build for £1600 IMO. The 3950X is one of the highest performance gaming chips.

No it isn't. It isn't any better than a 3700X. If the op is just gaming then that money is better spent elsewhere. Dropping £700 on a cpu for gaming is just silly.

Don't bother with the 3950X as it is a waste of money for a gaming system. The spec @Danny75 posted is better value for money.

No, sorry. It's not hyperthreaded and that intel platform is dead. It would be a bad investment.

This is poor advice.

The only poor advice here is yours, suggesting someone buy a X3950 for gaming is utterly ridiculous.

The NvME drive you suggested is also a waste of cash, he could get a drive double the capacity for the same price and suffer no noticeable performance difference for his intended usage.

You're just pointing out random expensive items that offer little to no benefit for gaming.

As for the OP, buying a 9700K would be a waste of money, you'd be investing in a dead platform and an 8 threaded cpu compared to a 12-16 threaded Ryzen for the same or less money. A 3600-3800X depending on your budget and the sale price of the components is where you want to focus. Put the savings toward a superior GPU if you 'must' spend up to the line.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I think the 3600/x or 3700x would 100% be better placed. I'm just saying, if for epeen or ***** and giggles, then he's entitled to buy whichever he likes. If it was me, I'd be 3700x all day but part of me wants the 3900x too.

A 3600/X or 3700X is definitely the way to go if you are just gaming. Better to spend the extra money on something like a new monitor, or just keep it to one side for future upgrades.

Hi guys, thanks for the tips.

I've made this build, think its close to the end.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,496.62 (includes shipping: £14.70)

I changed the MSI board to asus one, i prefer asus and i dont mind spending a bit more for it. The SSD what do you say? I was also wondering the WD sn750.

The gpu i will go for the gaming trio with 3 fans.

Anything that i should worry about?
