I have used this forum before and found some very helpful people who helped me build my first gaming PC 2 years ago. It is my little brothers time now and i am looking for some direction.

I have bought him a great keyboard, mouse, mouse mat and headset.
He is going to purchase a 27inch 1440p G-sync Monitor and will buy one of the new gen Nvidia cards when they are released.

However, the rest of his budget is around 1000 pounds which will have to cover;

Case
Motherboard
Processor (intel)
RAM
Water cooling unit preferably
PSU (capable of running the new gen GPU's
SSD

The further away from 1K the build is the better, but i believe it is possible.

Main use will be gaming at 1440p with around 144hz to last some years to come.

So far i was thinking:

CPU: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inte...ocket-lga1200-processor-retail-cp-68e-in.html

MoBo: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...-lga-1200-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-34t-ms.html

SSD: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...-solid-state-drive-mz-76q1t0bw-hd-23u-sa.html

RAM: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...200mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-my-08l-tg.html#

Not really sure on the remaining parts

Corsair rm 850w £120
850w is what you want for 3000 series gpu.

Case you should pick what he likes.

Swap the ssd for an western digital sn550 1tb m2 £110.

Ram is expensive can 32gb teamgroup 3200mhz for £93 or 16 gb £56..

Arctic freezer 240mm aio- £80.

Yeah i was wondering about the PSU and i will most likely need to replace my own one when i buy a 30XX series.

Was't sure if we were needing 32gb of RAM yet for gaming.

I am not familiar with those types of storage devices, the one you linked looks much faster in terms of read and write speed, thanks for the direction.

Any other opinions or guidance would be much appreciated as its obviously quite a lot of money to be spending.

The m2 drives are faster if your moving large files around, but day to day usage they are almost identical. E.g loading time in games may be 1 sec faster at best.

The m2 drives don't need any cables just put it into your motherboard.

16gb ram is the sweet spot for gaming its just that 32gb is a great price and will some what future proof.

Any cases you like ? Rgb ?

Thank you again for thje insight, no cables sounds great and potentially much tidier looking. We haven't looked at cases together yet. Although his accessories will be RGB, but i would absolutely go for practicality and cooling potential over looks while remaining in budget.

Have you decided on parts? list them and cost.

Oh i will need to show him the last one you linked there, that is cool! :D

I dont have a complete list, at the gym just now but i will be posting again soon. Thanks again for the help. I will probably take a few days to decide and go through it with him.

Thanks again.

Cool let us know what you decide.

No matter the next graphics card there's no sense in G-Sync only monitor.
That's paying to Nvidia for getting ball and chain into ankle for paying brand overprices in future.
FreeSync monitors work with any graphics card...
Inluding Intel's coming gaming cards.
So in couple years graphics card market situation can be very different. (well, maybe except brand overprices)

I would wait till the next gen cards are out before deciding on a machine because if PCIe gen 4 does make a difference then intel will be a poor choice since its limited to gen 3.
