Hey guys, just looking for someone to look over what I am going to buy to make sure I don't buy something that isn't going to work well. I made this via the customer pc builder on the website.

This is going to be a gaming pc, though I may do other nerdy **** with it. I hope that it will last for quite a few years. 2K is the limit - this was quote at 1.9K.

I do already have a Nvidia geforce rtx 4070 ti, so probably don't need the graphics card below - I don't think the 5060 is much of an upgrade.
  • 1x Kolink Unity Solar ARGB Mesh Midi-Tower Case - Black
  • 1x AMD Ryzen 7 7700X Eight Core 5.40GHz (Socket AM5) Processor - Retail
  • 1x Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WIFI7 (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard
  • 1x Kingston FURY Beast EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C36 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit
  • 1x Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 Core II ARGB All In One CPU Cooler - 240mm
  • 1x *Build* Asus GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Prime OC 16GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics C
  • 1x Aerocool Integrator 850W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply
  • 1x WD Black SN7100 2TB SSD NVME M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 Solid State Drive
  • 1x Build Stock Microsoft Windows 11 Home Advanced - Systems

Not a good choice for a gaming PC. It's a D-tier PSU. Look at their P7 PSU instead.

A prudent choice in the current market - unless you require DisplayPort 2.

1x AMD Ryzen 7 7700X Eight Core 5.40GHz (Socket AM5) Processor - Retail

Use some of the money you're saving on not getting a GPU to upgrade to a 9800X3D.

Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 Core II ARGB All In One CPU Cooler - 240mm

One of the Assassin tower coolers will be more than good enough and save you money.

Thanks for your reply, guys.

This is what I am going with atm: Grand Total: £1,386.80
1 X Kolink Unity Solar ARGB Mesh Midi-Tower Case - Black - £46.99
1 X Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard - £205.00
1 X Kingston FURY Beast EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C36 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit - £349.99
1 X AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D Eight Core 5.60GHz (Socket AM5) Processor - Retail - £374.99
1 X WD Black SN7100 2TB SSD NVME M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 Solid State Drive - £239.98

Changed cooling:
1 X Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 Black Dual Tower CPU Air Cooler - £39.95

For the power supply, I am
1 X Asus Prime 650W ATX12V 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply - £59.96
1 X Asus TUF Gaming EVO 650W ATX 3.1 PCIe 5.1 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply - £69.94

Had a look on some tier lists and they are both ranked B.

I would get at least 750 if I were you, preferably 850. Reason being, it gives you better utility for future upgrades.

Quoted from another thread:

I wouldn't go for a 650w unit. That size has always been in a sort of no mans land where it's too much for a low powered system yet not enough for anything that demands a decent bit of power. Everything seems to be getting more power hungry these days, especially gpu's, so I would be looking at a 850w psu just to cover all, or near enough all bases. Above all don't cheap out, buy the very best you can afford as it will last you years and through several upgrades. Most high quality psu's have a 10 year warranty these days but make sure it has all the connectors that you need because with the introduction of this horrible new high power cable some psu's only come with a pair of pci-e cables now.

Are you tempted by the 7500x3d instead of the 7700x? If (you mostly game && intend to upgrade anyway to AM6 < 12 months){7500x3d ?? maybe}

Only 2/3 the pure multithread performance vs 'only' a 12% gain for gaming. Tough call.

2K budget and only a bronze class power supply. That's simply wrong.

As you say, unless you are doing local AI or 3d modelling there's not enough gaming benefit in the 16gb 60ti vs your existing 12gb card right now. Just upgrade your existing card as and when that changes.

4070 Ti is a good enough card so long as you arnt exceeding 1440p resolutions.

For warmer summers make sure cooling is adequate - a good air or even AIO is best.

Rig looks good

I think the 9850X3D is overkill but I guess it'll give you some future-proofing. You wouldn't feel the difference with a 7500X3D and you can stick £175 in a jar labelled "Next upgrade". Also it's a 65W chip instead of 120W so the air cooler will be happy.
There's also the 7700X3D launching tomorrow; I don't know what the price to performance looks like on that but we'll find out soon.
I'm running a 7700X with a 5080 and still struggling to justify an upgrade.

+1 to going for a quality PSU. A bad PSU can wipe out your whole rig in one go.

Cases are subjective bt I'd spend the extra £10~£20 on something like an Antec P30, Coolermaster Elite 502, Corsair 3200D or Phanteks Eclipse G400. The quality of the fans is my main concern with the Kolink but I might be wrong.
