If you plan on going xfire(I.e. Adding a second 280x) in the future then go with the 4770k, of you don't plan in xfire then I'd suggest going with the 4670k and non reference 290 or a gtx780.

I have to agree with that.

4670k + 780/290(non-X)

Or

4770k + 280x (+280x).

Peronsally, i like single card rigs. :D

Yeah I'm gonna go 4770k + single 280x. I cant really stretch to the 290, but wont go crossfire.

Is that superflower psu I linked above the one to go for ?

The PSU will be fine yes..

Though it may be worth considering a high Wattage PSU, if Xfire fdoes creep into you're mind..

This one is Superflower made (they were OEM for the supernova series, go figure. :))

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA SuperNova NEX 750W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply (120-PB-0750-KR) £95.99

In your other thread you say you have £800-£1000, I just did a spec on the ocuk site with the 4670k + msi 290 gaming(rest of the specs same as been suggested/mentioned) and getting under £1000. I'm on my iPad so not got access to the shopping cart plugin for the browser and can't paste the basket.

Your right but if possible would like to keep it as low as possible and the i7 4770k and 280x price its the right note.

Thanks though.

Thanks very much for all your advise, but I've just gone ahead and ordered :

Mobo MSI Z87-G45 Gaming

CPU: Core i7 4770K Retail
Case: Corsair Carbide 200R

PSU: SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W

Mem: TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit

GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM

Changed my mind on the GPU at the end as the Sapphire was only little more expensive.

Looking forward to it coming on thursday, just need to book the day off work now ;)

Thanks again for all your help !

A good choice going for the golden green Superflower. It being gold efficiency and having a 5 year warranty makes it well worth the premium over cheaper PSUs in that power bracket.
