New GFX - BSOD

Why not just try that system restore point before full install may save you some time unless your hdd really messy.

System restore is something I will obviously try, ME2 has been running soundly for the past hour or so.
If the system restore doesn't fix it thne I have no choice.

Right, just launched the System Restore wizard... Given that I've never manually created any system restore points I have only 3, the earliest of which was from yesterday 10:31 am. Should I try this system restore point?

Yes there is. Gives you the option to repair or fresh install when put disc in. Are your other two dates before gpu change?

All are after the GPU change, the earliest was created when the I installed a system update, the second is when I initially reinstalled the new graphics drivers and the most recent is when I defragmented my registry.

I assume that the repair tool doesn't touch your programs ect only repairs the OS files?

Just been doing some googling and stumbled across this:

"nVidia drivers are known to change required Windows files in such a way that it hampers ATI card performance. This isn't some conspiracy or anything, it's just what nVidia drivers do in order for the VGA to work properly. ATI renders differently from nVidia, so those files being changed have an minor effect."

Could this be the source of the issues?

Personally never come across this one, have two pc's one green team and current red team. When you say fixed have you solved your problem now? I guess full install?

Is it possible to move Steam games onto a new install of Windows without having to re-download them?

I kind of mentioned this in post 43 :(.

Personally if I was you I would just do a full install seeing as the test install worked fine. Will also help make the system feel "fresh" as well.
