New GPU Issue?

Hey guys,

As mentioned elsewhere in the forum, I have side-graded to a Red Devil 580 GPU.

Just finished playing a game of Battlefield 1 there, all was well, but when I exited to the desktop, the fans turned into a hoover and ramped up to 100% and wouldn't shut off..

I then opened up AfterBurner, and it froze for a few seconds, then the BSOD, stating : "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER"

Booted back up, and back to normal??

Just been reading online, it is mainly either a GPU driver or GPU itself issue..

Tomorrow, im going to update BIOS on the the mobo (quite an old one on it) and format windows with latest drivers...

I know its a possibility but surely the card itself cant be ****** surely?

Try DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and give it a flush with a fresh installation of drivers. I saw this BSOD back in the day on a 7970GHz, I'm sure... DDU helped clear that up.

I think its a driver thing, i get it sometimes on my RX 480, just the other day actually after running 3DMark, had to reboot to get the fans out of 100% speed. Since Aug 2016 when i got the 480, the amount of times this has occurred isnt even in double digits.
