my current system,

e6400 @3.2
4gb xms 800 ram
asus p5q
hd4850

I have purchased the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 "Golden Sample" along with a corsair tx 750w. my resolution will be 1920x1080 and mainly use my system for games: grid, cod 4/5, crysis and a few others.

Will my over 3 yr old cpu handle this new hardware ok or will it bottleneck it?

thx guys

There will be a slight bottleneck, but I imagine the difference would only be seen in benchmarks :)

CPU should be upto the job - as happy said in benchmarks it might lag a bit behind - but in games actually playing the difference won't be huge.

cheers for the replys, i was going to upgrade to the e8400 or q9550 but might aswell stick with what i have untill a new x58 board and i7 cpu.

cheers :)
