Hey guys,
so im planning on buying a HD 6950 for the up and coming BF3 and i have an old PSU (http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=3738) as you can see it only has 1 6pin - my question is - would this product do the job to power a 6950 at 100 usage (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Startech-Express-Power-Adapter-Cable/dp/B001TK3TJY) since 6 pin is 75w and 8 is 150 not sure how it would work out.
thanks for any reply much appreciated.

If I were you I'd be looking at something a bit more beefier than the 500 Watt one. Even my old Athlon 3500 64 needed at least a 550 Watt one when I added a Gainward Bliss 7800 GS+ 512MB, but of course it's about the amount of amps on the rails which is more important.

The system may run with that PSU and card but you need to consider the stress of the other components which require power.

To give you more headroom for gaming and additional components I would suggest a min of a branded 750 Watt from Corsair or indeed from Antec. If you intend playing with high settings in BF3, you are going to be using a quadcore because a dualcore is unlikely to cut it. ( Based upon my own experience in playing Bad Company 2 on my I7 920 rig.)
