get the Gigabyte I'm waiting for 4GB 680's and if any were available I'd snap them up. I was late to the first round and now have to wait aimlessly for the next batch.
Not really. Reference 680's are fine. Unless you're going to wait for the 6+8pin unlocked voltage mods.

I see, well I am really picky with how noisy my PC is.

Pointless, noise levels are subjective to an individuals needs, no stock card I have ever owned has been 'quiet' while it's been perfectly acceptable to others who stated they were 'totally silent' at idle and 'not that loud' when gaming.
I have 2 AC Extreme coolers@auto rpm's and all I can hear from my rig is the slightest hum from my Antec Kuhler pump on silent, with half the case fans switched off and the rest at their lowest settings using my Nesteq fanmax.
Both 6950>70's were reference cards too, one was louder both in idle and gaming regardless which card was in the top slot(top one runs hotter) compared to the other exact same reference card.
