Ideas please - No budget in mind, although Id go to £350 tops really.

Currently have....(note the PSU!!)

i5 750 4GHz
Gigabyte P55 UD5
8GB DDR3 Dual - Ripjaws
700watt Corsair PSU

1x Radeon 5870

I was thinking about adding another 5870, but thats ~£200, and for about £250 I can have a single (He has 3 for sale) GTX580 (second hand EVGA), a card which almost performs to the level of two 5870's. Or I could have 2 for £470 (TBH, way over my budget and No doubt ill need a new psu).

Is there anything else I should consider?

Id really like to be able to get the best out of games, BF3 was great on my current setup, Metro 2033 (One of my favorite games ever) was good too although obviously couldnt handle DX11. Plus I was playing at a lower resolution thanks to my old monitor being naff.

Yeah , wait until kepler is here , if you absolutely can't wait then an AMD 7950 would be a good buy at your budget level , but if you can hold out a little bit longer it would be the best idea .

i see, thanks. Ill wait and buy a new nvidia card with this new kepler thing then?

Why are you not considering AMD cards?

Nobody knows the price/performance of Kepler cards yet so the 79** series could still be best for price/performance. Wouldn't be so quick to choose if I were you :)

The thing with kepler coming is not just that more new cards are coming , it also means that other cards are likely to drop in price , so its not a case of wait for and only consider kepler , but more a case of wait for kepler and see what effect it has on the pricing of all cards. An AMD 7950 is a good card and within your budget , however many people believe the price of it has to drop further when kepler hits.

With kepler only being a short time away , assuming you have time on your side , its bettter to wait and consider all options once both amd and nvidia have their cards on the table so to speak ( no pun intended :) ) .

Yeah I think Ill hold out in that case thanks.

Im not in a rush. The only games I want to play are Max Payne, Far Cry 3 and the odd other one which arent even out yet. Does anyone know when the Keplar is set for release yet?

Cheers.
