Hi, looking for a little help in choosing a new graphics card for my system. Will be playing the odd game but mainly video editing with premiere and creating in after effects.

Not sure how much use the card would be for after effects but would be handy for premiere and 3d applications in AE

So far I have:
Asrock n68cs ucc
AMD Athlon™ II X4 640 3ghz
8Gb DDR3

and the current card is an Nvidia gt8600 - been pretty decent so far given its age but needs an upgrade i reckon.

thanks in advance.;)

Thanks for the replies so far, I have a 600w supply. Cant remember the make atm - I'm currently at work.

Up to £100, with the gpu not taking much of the processing off the cpu in AE I'm not sure its worth going too mental budget wise.

well the one I posted is;

This Week Only Offer
was £119.99 inc VAT
£109.98 inc VAT
£91.65 ex VAT

that should be ok with the 600 watt power supply.

Nice one, both look like a lot of bang for the bucks, though the Radeons 960 processing cores would seem to be a better bet than the GeForce's 336. Thanks a lot, much appreciated.

You can't compare the architecture in such a straight forward way, they are both quite different. On paper you would expect the Radeons to wallop Nvidia, but that generally isn't the case.
