New graphics card advice for new system

I think I might wait until 6xx series comes out, should be out in a month or so? There's not much point in me splashing over a grand on a system if the graphics card will quickly be last year's technology.

I could then add another 6xx for SLI when the prices come down. This wouldn't be a problem with the spec above + a 1000w PSU would it?
 
I'm hearing the next gen cards might not be out until well into next year.

I'm thinking maybe I should just invest just now? If I only have to wait a month or so fair enough, but if I have to wait months...I'll be waiting around forever to find the right time to take the plunge.
