Hi I have been posting in the general hardware forum with the following spec for a new system:

Uses are music, internet, work, HD movies on 24inch monitor, some gaming.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.66GHz 12MB-cache (1333FSB)
Graphics: EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
Hard drive: Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Optical Drive: LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray Reader & HD-DVD ROM Serial ATA
Power: Corsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU
Memory: Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Supplied with Airflow Fan (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF)
Case: Antec Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

I am constantly being told that I should go for an 8800 GTX over the 9800 GTX given the high resolution I will be using so can someone please recommend me the best one for the best price?
I am not looking to spend over £200 (unless doing so is strongly recommended) and currently have my eye on a Leadtek GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI

Thanks in advance for any advice

all 8800GTXs are the same, some may come pre overclocked or with more accessories or free games but in essence they are all the same card

Ditch that cramped case at once.

Wait a few weeks for the new Gen cards and see what the pricing is like.

Buying end of line gfx cards for 225 is maddness imo.

Ok think il wait then get back to posting on here for advice on the new ones!
Recommendation for a cheap(ish) roomier case?
Thanks

+1 for changing the case and waiting...

Did you mean 900 btw? I have the case, its not really that big, it is on the noisy side. I wouldnt say its really bad, especially considering its price but it needs some work to make everything tidy.

A bit cheaper?

Don't Skimp on the heart of the build.

I have one and its seen over ten builds since amd optys were state of the art and I have never seen any reason to change.

Its one of the best cases out there.

EDIT: Its 40 quid more than the Antec 300 cut your budget elsewhere.

maybe a lian li PC7, they're pretty swish :) or a PC A07

Both great airflow and big enough to take newer gfx cards and under the eclipse. The eclipse is a nice enough case but a bit.. porky ;)
