Hey, i came down today and bought a new MSI R7950 GFX card.
i uninstalled my old card settings/drivers, took out my old card. Placed the new one in its place then installed the drivers and software.
After about an hour of game play i start to get flickering images and blue dots appearing all over my screen whilst playing battlefield 3.

So i go to amd and download their latest driver, but still this doesn't solve my problem
Can anyone please help???

PSU is a corsair 650 TXU.
Havnt done any OC just plugged my card in from box so using factory settings

temps are 55+

MOBO: ASUS CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA

Not sure what a mobo revision is?

On CPU-Z, under the mainboard tab, it says bios (mine is 2105). what does yours say and what CPU are you using?

Can you put everything back at stock speeds and try the tests again?

The 7950 TF3 cards have had a few problems recently, it's possible your card's VRAM is faulty

The BIOS for your mobo is quite old but there is no revision for newer GPU support.

Artifacts on screen are usually a sign of a bad memory overclock. You could try upping the memory volts a little and see if this sorts out the problem.

when it comes to upping voltages and stuff i'm not familiar with overclocking as I've never done it before.
just downloading the software now. will post once its ran

sounds more like the card is borked... i would try it in another computer and see if it does the same.

Wow, obviously card failure, what is going on with these 7950's ?
Has to be memory power regulator issue or memory ic / BGA failure again as heat soak related failure.

Return the card my friend and avoid MSI until they get this sorted !

I'm using MSi mobo and MSi GTX 660 Ti and they are great.

There really does seem to be an issue with the MSi HD 7950s though.

I agree it is a faulty card. I have no idea on overclocking a 7950 and sounds like the memory is the problem to me? but again, it is an MSI card. Maybe the memory is getting to hot or the vrms are but you shouldn't need to start adding volts on stock.

Try upping the fan with afterburner to full and run Heaven again and see if it is still doing it.
