Ok well after 4 years of having 2 ATI 3870's one has died ( R.I.P lol ) I still have one left but i want to get a new one that is powerful.

My budget is £200 but i want it to be able to handle most games that are out now like BF3 etc any suggestions?

For that budget your best options are either an AMD HD 7850 2GB, HD 6970 2GB or a Nvidia GTX 570 1.28GB.

Here is a review which compares the performance of the GTX 570, HD 6970 and HD 7850 (and other cards) in a range of tests.

Of these cards the GTX 570 tends to be the fastest - though the 1.28GB may be an issue if you are planning to use a high resolution monitor in the future (1200p+).

The HD 6970 2GB is the next fastest and gives you very good performance, 2GB VRAM, a nice cooler and a 3 year warranty for your £200 - though admittedly it isn't as low-power or as quiet as a HD 7850.

The HD 7850 is the slowest of the lot, but it is very power efficient and runs quietly.

Basically choose whichever of these cards fits your preference the best.

May I ask what resolution you currently play at and do you plan to upgrade your monitor in the near future? Also, may I ask what the make and model number of your PSU is?

7850 would be my preference when compared to the 6970. It should overclock even further than the 6970 which for me would be the deal clincher, as well as the acoustics and price to a lesser extent. Still, the 6970 on offer is a very nice one, that can't be ignored so I can see why it might swing it for some.

The only thing I will add is that BF3 is currently performing better on Nvidia cards, but with overclocking the 7850 should be more than ok. Due to the competition it faces I wouldn't buy a 7850 and not overclock, where as with some other models in both camps you can get away with that a little more easily.
