New GTX 670 No Boot?

Seems odd though, trying it without any connectors plugged in told me to apply power, however with the connectors it said nothing. Odd.

It thought it had power with them connected but when not connected, it knows it hasn't. It is like using a dummy CPU cooler fan jumper when you have your CPU water cooled.

Thanks for all the help, it's a little annoying when you get something that cost you £320 and you have issues. I've built plenty of PCs but it never gets easier when something doesn't work.

Does anyone have a link to a good guide or any tips for overclocking this thing?

Okay, the problem was fixed but now whenever I first boot up the PC it does the same again. I power it on, everything boots but there is no signal going to the display and the VGA LED is red on the motherboard.

If I leave it on for a few seconds and then power off and back on it boots fine. Anyone have any ideas? Should I return the card?

I've tested both of my 560TIs and they have no issues at all with the extension cables removed.

Hmm my windforce Gtx 670 does the exact same thing. I think this happens when i have the electricity plug switched off. If i switch it on and subsequently start my computer many times the display wont boot but i can see the computer is working. I have to shut it down and try again to make it work. But if there was power already running through the socket i think i dont get this problem. I dont suppose its the same for you?

My PC is never switched off at the wall, everything is in one extension and the router for the home internet goes through it so it's always on, however just shutting the PC down and then turning it on the next day causes this issue. I've yet to try just shutting it down then straight back on.

I shut down my PC for a minute or two while I cleaned my PC, when I turned it back on it booted without issue, it seems that the issue is only happening when doing a cold boot after a fair period of inactivity.
