new hard drive and winxp64

Just put in a new hard drive to have as a spare. Windows found it ok but when I go into My computer it does not find it there. How do I get Windows to see it ?

From the Start menu, click Run.

In the Open box, type diskmgmt.msc, and then click OK

Find the new hard drive, partition it, format it, assign it a drive letter, and bob's your uncle, drive installation completed.

start run
compmgmt.msc
select disk management from the list on the left, then as above

or start -> all programs -> administrative tools -> computer management
(may or may not be present depending on your start menu options)
