Hi all

I have (or had) 3 Spinpoint 250GB running in a RAID 5 array on my P8-Z68V motherboard. It is looking like one of these disks is failed so I am needing to replace. I was thinking of getting 2 of these and running in RAID 1 as I want to have some redundancy in case of any failure. What are your thoughts on this? I obviously need at least 500Gb space so just a single SSD will not fit. I mainly use the PC for gaming (DIablo 3, Skyrim) but also run a few VMs on it for studying and have BOINC installed which is runing 100% of the time. I don't want to spend loads of cash on this but obvioulsy need to get it sorted pretty quick

Thanks!

I wouldn't get that drive you wouldn't gain anything from it really as the drive only has 8gb of flash and you don't get to pick what goes in to that the drive does it automatically better off getting a normal hard drive

Raid 1 isn't really a backup solution, as when 1 drive gets corrupted, it may well be copied across to the other, and if a file is deleted its deleted from both.

Get the SSHD for a boot/main drive if you want the extra boot time speed from the SSD cache, then just a standard hard drive to use as a backup target or something imo.
