hi, i posted a few weeks ago about a new pc build which i will order around the cod4 release date nov 4th i believe.

so basically does anyone know if the new nvidia or ati graphics, intel cpu's and compatible mobo's will be out before then?

its not too long now so gettin a little worried, need the new pc ready for it, and theres plenty of other games out.

cheers

The 2900pro is out now which is the best budget card, but if you want the cream of graphics then it wont be untill November or even 2008 January.

well i have £1000 or a tad more if need be. so not really budget, and its only cpu mobo graphics ram psu and os so not the full lot.

hmmm not sounding good

im in the same boat, have the same budget and am also wanting to upgrade for COD4 / crysis

i dont think there is anything coming out in the next month or worth waiting for and now is as good as time as any..

though i hanging on as long as possible before hitting the order button.

imo now is a good time, things may get released in 2 months or so but ram if nothign else will probably go up before christmas

So, if looking to build a budget rig of say approx £600, would it be better to: buy now, buy in 2 months or buy after x-mas?

I am not in any particular rush games wise, as I am only a extremely casual gamer and prefer strategy games over FPS. My issues are more with general PC usage. My system is fairly old and is at pretty much crawl. To give you an idea of how old:
- Athlon XP-M @ 2.2ghz
- Radeon 9700 pro
- Abit NF7-s
- 160gb HDD

how long is a mid range gtx gonna last? i assume you can max out all settings on all games and get top performance aslong as you hav nice hardware to go with?
