I see the new low end Haswell CPU's have emerged, but I still cannot find any reviews, anybody seen any yet?

The lower Haswell offering at 50 quid seem fine.
But they're out of touch when it comes to the i3's.

Why is that?
For the same £100 as the cheapest i3(3.4ghz HD 4400) you can either get a 6 core 3.9 ghz Piledriver and have to spend more to get a separate graphics card, or a 3.9 ghz quad core richland with intergrated 8570D.
How do they compare in performance with the i3?
Hence why I was asking for reviews.

Which is why they're out of touch, why would you ever get the i3 when there's better options?
Let alone the i3's at flipping FX8320 prices.
We're talking at a most 10% faster than an i3 3220.

bare in mind the new i3s have a greatly improved integrated graphics processor, i think its 50% faster than last generation, thats the progress we are all subsidising....

Moot point as the A10's are the same price and walk all over its IGP.

While I would agree with you that the top two i3's are not worth the extra over the lowest i3, it is this chip that I am interested in.

For a non overclocked system that will not be used for gaming, I'm reckoning that the i3 will be the better bet by quite a bit, as you say it wont be much better than the i3 3220, but it is 100mhz faster and with whatever improvements Haswell brings to the table it should be faster than the Richland A8 6600k for the same price.

here is a comparison of the i3 3220 vs the Trinty A8 5600k. the two CPU's are probably similarly behind their newer counterparts.

The A10 5800K is £100, same price as the Richland A8 6600K.

It's less clear cut then: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/675?vs=677

Ignoring SysMark 2012, which always puts Intel ahead, the A10 trades blows in real use, before any overclock (and ignoring the superior IGP).

For systems with integrated graphics the APUs are excellent value, and for low cost systems with discrete graphics, the i3 is no competition for the 8320.

Good point the older A10 5800k is a very good price.

I will have to wait a few days to see if any reviews pop up and then give my recommendation to my friend.

The current APUs will work in FM2+ boards - but yeah, it's making FM2 boards very unattractive. It looks like Kaveri will outright dominate the low end market, but we'll have to see.
