Not by as much as you think with the GT3 igps, but agreed, however lga1150 ha the option of a sweet upgrade later one.

The i3 doesn't have a GT3.
And GT3 is good, AMD have lost the IGP crown for now with the big and expensive Iris Pro, but AMD will probably correct that with Kaveri, Intel still has work to do.
 
Since GT3 will only be in soldered in CPUs it's irrelevant to most people here - it has good performance, but the IGP in the socketed chips is still crappy and so AMD has no real competition.

If Intel just unlocked all their processors like AMD, the i3 would be a lot better. It'd still suffer in heavily threaded software but would do brilliantly in a lot of current games.

Yep, but the days of sweet sub £100 cpus which overclocked almost 100% are over, AMD's ****tiness has caused an almost monopoly. Intel is being very legally sensible in serving its shareholders best interests by pushing expensive cpus on a market they dominate.
