Hello I think I might go for this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-003-SD but I noticed some of these SSD say Sata 2 and 3 how do I know which one to get for my laptop are does it matter thanks i should have used this forum before it is so helpful

If you laptop was built before late 2010 then the chances are it uses a SATA 2 interface.

That being the case, fitting the more expensive SATA 3 SSD (6Gb/s) would have no improvement over fitting a SATA 2 SSD since data transfer would be limited to 3Gb/s by the SATA 2 interface.

If you intend to replace your laptop in the near future then a SATA 3 SSD may be the way to go since you could then install the SSD in a machine which has a SATA 3 interface. :D

I think I might go for Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5" because it is sata 3 may be useful in the future I was also thinking about upgrading the ram to 4gb but some one told me you have to have a 64bit laptop or OS what ever that means to run over 3gb ram

yeah thats right,a 64bit operating system,32bit only uses upto 3.5gb of memory

if your coming from a mechanical hdd,an ssd will be the fastest/best upgrade to do

hello everyone got my new kingston hyper x SSD stuck it in and installed windows 7 on it works great very quiet and fast hopefully my laptop will last another year or 2
