New HDD isn't showing up in windows!

just installed a 2nd hard disk (500Gb Samsung Sata), the bios has found it and its in the device manager, but it hasnt appeared in my computer. any suggestions, im running vista home premium (32-bit)

I dont know how to do it on Vista but it might be the same as XP:

Go in to control panel, administrative tools, "Computer management", then "disk management" right click on the disk and click "format" and it should work then.
