New HDD Not Detected in XP

Just put a new 400GB HDD in my PC and it shows up in the BIOS but not in XP. I can see it in disk management but if I right click the only options I get are convert to dynamic disk and make a new partition. I tried the convert to dynamic option but nothing happened. What can I do now?

You still need to create a volume (or a partition if it's still a basic disk) and format it within Disk Management.

Duh!! Went to the manufacturers site and downloaded the tools I needed and it's all sorted now
