Hi there!
I had a technician upgrade my PC by installing another Gb of RAM and a second Hard disc ( a Seagate 7200.12 750Gb). Now that he left, i realized that the disc is nowhere to be seen in ''My Computer" screen. There are only the main Hitachi disc C, the DVDRW and an external WD drive.
Is there something wrong? Am i supposed to format it or something (and how can i do that if i don't "'see"" it?).It will not damage the Hard disc in any sense, will it??
PLEASE don't tell me that the disc has a problem because it is the second Seagate i get after the first one failling days after purchase..:( (and having to battle my way with the shop that sold it):(
Many thanks in advance!

Assuming he (or you) checked the drive was installed correctly, i.e. it's listed during POST or in the BIOS, then Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc

The drive probably needs to be initialised, formatted or assigned a drive letter.

Yes, it is listedin BIOS and in speedfan utility. It even checks something called SMART and finds it ok!

follow the instructions from Daegan

Start

Run

type diskmgmt.msc ENTER

this will take you to the disk management page in control panel

your drive should be listed here

you may need to format it and assign the drive a drive letter

Thanks! I run diskmgmt, the drive is listed there but where's the option to assign a drive letter and format it? I searched and tried right clicking but found nothing!
Please?

Damn! My windows are Greek and ia m not sure how ''new simple volume'' translates... I can't find anything that means initialize in the right click menu.
Any pictures guys to understand the correspondense of mthe terms?
Thanks!

Right click menu reveals an option called ''new partition wizard''. Is this relevant?
