Just installed a new samsung spinpoint F3 1TB
Having a few issues getting it setup and partitioned.
I am using Acronis disk director with windows 7 64bit.
Basically i have plugged the hdd in and windows appears to have installed it, but it didnt show in my computer. So i used the disk management facility in programs and features to get windows to see it and ultimately format it.
So far so good.
However i have tried to partition the drive using acronis and it restarted the computer etc. But the partition isnt showing up. Almost as if it didnt work.
Secondly and more importantly the drive is registering is a primary master. With my main drive a maxtor 320gb registering as primary slave.
But i want the samsung as the slave for storage etc. and the mactor is used for my OS.
Is there any way to swap the master/slave round?? i havent noticed any jumpers on the back of the drives so im assuming they dont need them anymore????
