I have a 2015 Toyota GT86 and yesterday i fitted a Pioneer SPH-DA320DAB head unit that supports Apple Car Play.
When i connect my iPhone to it using the USB i can see the Apple Car Play screen but when i try and play any music i just get that spinning circle and nothing ever happens as if its buffering somehow.
I have made sure all connections are good so has anyone got any ideas please?

It sounds random, but if its anything like my SPH-DA120 you need to set it up for either android or apple in one of the menu's if you set the wrong one it gets all aggy.

Are you using a good quality lightning cable? Ideally an original Apple one? As odd as it sounds carplay can be a bit funny on after market cables.

I can't seem to find this option, perhaps it was in the original setup so i might do a factory reset of the unit and try again.

Yes its an original Apple Lightning cable, i suspect i am doing something wrong so might try a Youtube search to see if that can help.

If you can I would definately try a second cable before spending too much other time on things. I've seen it affect a couple of car play units in the past.

Thanks, i wil do that as i have several genuine Apple cables. It could even be the USB cable that runs from the back of the head unit to the centre console where i connect the apple cable so i will try another Apple cable first and if it still fails to work i will attach the Apple cable directly to the head unit to see if that rectifies it.

If there are 2 usb ports on the back of the unit make sure its plugged into port 1.

That's the case on my SPDA120 that port is carplay only.

Cheers all

Mine has only 1 USB port and as yet i need to get the head unit back out to try a cable directly as i have tried another genuine Apple Lightning cable as others have suggested with no difference.
