New Header design but need input.

Attempting to redesign the header for a new work site but really dont a clue about graphic design, to me it looks ok but it also screams amateur.

Could anyone suggest some improvements i could make to improve it.

CSS wont be a problem, that I can do but graphically I couldnt draw to save my life.

I quite like it. Although the photo on the far right looks a little lost... perhaps you could make it fill more of the header.

The text could do with being smoother too.

I agree with SiriusB about the photo and the text

also personally I would make it so that where the bottom tabs stop the top tabs start. theres a slight over lap of the start/stop positions that I find isnt too easy on the eye... but thats just me.
