Just an update. The Sonys arrived and i didnt want them in the end. They sounded exactly the same as the 1st gen BBD that i have.

Ended up nipping into the megastore in mansfield and they had the lot out of to test. Ended up with a Sony MDR100ABN h.ear headset. The momentum 2.0 headsets was very good also but the wireless on the Sonys is what made my decision.

fair enough, but you definitely went backward in terms of sound quality. Not sure how the awful 1st gen Beats sound the same as the decent MDR1A. Same goes for the Momentum, i dont get the love for them at all.

Yep, the MDR-1A is bassy but it's got very good and non recessed mids and very nice highs, neither of which can be said for the original Beats.

Still, the MDR-100ABN is a decent pick, I have the non bluetooth version, the MDR-100AAP and it's a very nice sounding headphone.

I am finding them to be brilliant. Gone through all kinds of music on spotify and they can play anything beautifully. Then i go over to my FLAC collection and well, wow. Very, very impressed by the sound on these.

They also work flawlessly with my S6. Very happy with them :)

One thing you have to be careful with the Momentums is using the correct cable for the device - for some reason the compatibility isn't good and causes leakage between channels with a lot of devices if you use the wrong cable destroying the sound quality. Aside from some minor mid-range articulation issues in specific circumstances I find them very good just a bit of a gimmicky sound that I wouldn't want to use all the time.
