I am looking for some new headphones that will be very "bassy" and great for music and gaming but under £100 any ideas will be much appreciated :)

Yep the corair 1500's are really nice, not that bassy out of the box but having a play about with the eq settings soon sorts that out

Because some people have no experience with good headphones. To those people headsets sound great. Anything can sound 'good' until you have heard something better. :p

I suppose you could use EQ to reduce the muddiness and Dolby Headphone may help with the congested sound stage.

Also, it depends if the OP is looking for big bassy explosions for immersion factor or positional accuracy to gain an edge in competitive online games.

The T1 is pretty good for stuff like CS.

If you want sound quality, in general it is best to avoid the gaming brand headsets from companies that don't really have any proper history in the audio world (e.g. razer, corsair, etc).

Unlike other PC hardware, audio quality is very subjective and as someone else stated, you simply don't realise what is 'good' sounding untill you hear something that is actually good.

I also forgot to mention the microphone needs to be of a good quality as they will be used for long periods of recording and gaming.
