Loads of good ideas now - I have no idea why I had such a mental block about it :)

Will investigate and come up with a shortlist

Tell me about it, there's something really depressing about that place

Guess it all depends on where you work there really, have/had family that work in the town or have done in the past.

Exeter much nicer place to work :)

Down on the Brunel road estate, so about as depressing as it gets!

I took up model kits a few months ago. I made a V8 visible kit engine that really moves.

It's awesome.

I love that sort of thing, but doesnt really tick the boxes for meeting new people though :)

Where did you get the kit from? I'd love one of the ones that actually runs but I think they're pretty pricey

I was going to say archery but it's expensive to get started if you don't have a bow and my experience of the teams is they're usually a bit odd, so I don't tend to stick around that long.

What about Salsa dancing? There are always more girls than men as a bonus.

Hmm was hoping archery would be something where you could borrow the kit...

Plus odd people isnt a good thing really

Salsa definitely ticks the women box, not sure if it really appeals though - would be a bit odd going on my own I think

Yeah there will be women but what age will they be?

May I suggest growing a mohawk. Gets attension and you get loads of women come up to you and ask about it etc, great convo starter. I know this cos I have one before you ask :p

Most clubs will allow you to borrow/rent kit till you get your own and it depends on what you consider expensive as you can get a starter kit for about £150.

I like odd people, much more interesting than normal people. :) To be honest most archers I have met have been pretty normal.

I met some great guys doing American Football. Season is part way through but most clubs will let you train and do special teams.
