New HTC headsets coming in June

Vive Pro 2 looks very attractive to me, as I already have a full Index setup, so I get the benefits of Index controllers and base stations with a much higher resolution headset without having to get a G2 with its horrible controllers. It's nice there's an upgrade path there if I wanted to take it.
The price though means I won't be buying one right now, though I could probably sell my Index headset for a reasonable amount. In any case I'd wait for a Tested review before considering one.

The only two things I don't like about the Index headset are the lens glare, and the (since I got a Quest 2) relatively lower resolution and more obvious SDE. In most other respects it's an excellent headset and very comfortable. The best thing about it for me is the large FOV. Quest 2 feels very restricted by comparison.

VP2 looks tempting for me, I have the OG vive with the index knuckles and the wifi adapter. Currently though it's only 90hz with the wifi adapter, I wonder if that will change with firmware updates?

Is yours the TP cast one or the actual official Vive Wireless adapter?

At the moment the Official Vive adapter will only get 90Hz on the Vive Pro 2 and at a lower resolution. They are saying that there will be a firmware update to up the resolution but I am not sure about the higher refresh rate.

Its the Official Wireless adapter. I really don't think I could go back to using a cable, maybe I'll give it some time to see what develops

Does the Vive PRo 2 tick all the boxes for you? (you would need £300 more if you don't have the base stations or controllers already :p)
Alas no.
Basically I want a higher res. CV1 as others have mentioned.
Miss the OLED blacks, great sound quality and comfort. Wider FOV, finer IPD adjustment would be good too.

Erm, have you read the specs of the Vive Pro 2? Apart from OLED, which area does it fall down?

For me it’s just the panel type yes. I was originally put off buying a G2 when I saw it was LCD. So I waited for reviews instead of pre-ordering. Then came all the sweet spot and USB/chipset problem complaints.
I’ve used a G2 a few times and it’s not much of an upgrade over quest 2 IMO.
The quest 2 though is used lots and am loving playing Skyrim again with it.
Will see what reviews for the new Vive Pro 2 are like

Definitely interested for my sim rig. This or a G2 are the front runners at the moment. Only snag is this will be even harder to drive and would require me to get a base station making it quite a bit more than the G2. Currently rocking a CV1 which I've had since launch.

whilst getting ready for the Vive P2 and ordering the base stations/controllers etc I got a pleasant surprise to discover you get a copy of Half Life Alyx incl. with the Index controllers :) and they were actually in stock and shipping

It's bonkers that you can get a Quest 2 and Touch controllers for not much more than the price of a pair of Index controllers.

I have pre ordered, The Pro makes sense to me. All though it is an incremental upgrade from my G2. I have owned a Vive Pro and am happy with the build and comfort so i know what i`m getting with regards to the balance, comfort and weight. I prefere the Audio solution compared to the Index and G2 closed ear cups for my preference. I also own an Index. I am a little dissapointed with the FOV and sweet spot of the G2, but I can not go back to the resolution of the Index compared to the G2.
This might be better in sweetspot and deffinatly FOV making it a worth upgrade to use with my lighthouses and knuckles and wand controllers I already have. As for the Oled, the Vive pro had lovely colours but the lack of sub pixels and the sharper image I would trade for in LCD for a black that is a little less black.

yeah its a fair point, there is definitely an R&D or sales tax being applied here.

To be fair though Facebook are probably subsidising the Oculus 2 against selling/processing ur data and its in a different league on specs alone, but yeah I agree the Vive Pro 2 all in price is excessive they pulled an Apple in that they've produced something incrementally better than the HP G2 but are asking quite a lot more for it.
