New i5 system wont boot with gfx card

Hey guys. As topic really. Just put together my new system and whe i have the graphics card in it refuses to post or boot. The onboard works fine withiut mine in and the graphics card works fine in other systems. Is there some bios setting on i5s that i need to disable to allow it to use addon cards lol. The motherboard also has two pcie 16 slots which ive tried the card in ruling out socket DOA!

Tried using different PCI-E power cables? Might possibly be the PSU but that's just where I'd look next.

You need to set an option in the bios to PCIe output. Can't remember exactly where off the top of my head. It's too early

Its the gigabyte ga z77 d3h board. I found an option in bios to display pcie first but now neither way works lol. May have to flash.

Remove the card, it should revert back to onboard video

It didnt. I had to clear cmos lol. Either way if someone can show exactly which options to change i would be very grateful. I cant fiddle anymore as i have to go to work

Try and update the bios I have seen a few people say they needed to update it to get their gpu working.

As utterly stupid as this sounds have you connected the 6 pin power to the GPU if it has one? not sure if that can cause it to not boot to post, I am sure it normally boots and informs you but still.
