Ok, so I've been waiting for the ATI 5870's to come in stock, and according to the post in the graphics cards forum they're due on tuesday and I've a pre-order so...

I don't need monitor, case (I still think my CM Stacker 830 is the best i'm ever gonna get :P), keyboard, mouse, speakers. Just rebuilding the mobo/cpu/ram/GPU

Current spec:
Intel Q6600
Tuniq Tower
EVGA 680i mobo
4gb OCZ Reaper DDR2 (2x2gb)
BFG Geforce 8800gtx OC2.
Corsar HX 620
Creative X-Fi gamer

3 year old system but it still just about does ok, but I want an upgrade.

Got a XFX 5870 on pre-order which should come in stock on tuesday. What about the rest?

Was thinking:

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 D0 Which seems like by far the best bang/buck cpu out there at the moment
HSF: Corsair H50.. Looks interesting, but open to suggestions here. Would take the Tuniq Tower (which is amazing by the way) out of my current system if I wasnt taking all my old compents and using them in my other machine.
PSU: Corsair HX 620 Got one of these already and can't fault it at all. Quiet and gets a lot of good reviews so I'll get another for my new build but am open to suggestions
Mobo: Asus P6T SE Really open to suggestions on this. Although seems pointless not getting X58. I don't need SLi (amd card...) and only have basic requirements in terms of features. As long as I get at 1 IDE and SATA nothing else matters.. but will I be able to OC to 4ghz on this board?
RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 Again open to suggestions. This is the item I have least knowledge about, but I would like 6gb going from a 4gb system to another 4gb system doesn't feel like an upgrade ;)

I think that's everything. I welcome any suggestions/recommendations.

My budget is ~£1000 including the GPU which i've already ordered (£340) so £660 for the rest but going over by a bit doesn't matter.

Thanks for any comments!

unless your dead set on getting i7, i would go for i5 if its for gaming. Its about £200 cheaper cpu/mb/ram and in games the performance is pretty much the same, get a good mb for i5 and u can clock that to 4ghz pretty easy so you can still have 4ghz.

PSU: Corsair HX 620

I don't think they make these anymore mate, your better off getting a HX 850 anyway incase you want to add another card sometime.
