new images of 9/11 released

Are there any pics of what the place looked like after all the dust settled? Must have left a fairly deep covering, I imagine it looked very post apocalyptic.

I flew to the states on September 16th 2001 on holiday.

We had a load of internal flights. We got one from LA to Las Vegas. The price was $7 each (no-one was flying!).

There were more staff than passengers. I lay long-ways across 3 first-class seats as two flight attendents served me as much champagne and top-quality food as I wanted and gave me a massage (they offer this to all first class passengers). They let me choose the film to be shown over the whole plane, and paused it when one of the 6 total passengers needed the loo!

The pilot came out personally to thank us for flying 'after the world had ended'!

When we got to Las Vegas ALL the big screens were just showing the American flag. Lot's of the events etc. had just been cancelled :(

We went to Disney and they'd put American flags up EVERYWHERE. People with American flags were being stopped in the street and offered $50 for the flag they were holding by strangers so they could hang it off their front door .. for a flag that probably cost $5.

Strange times ..

I was working in the city on holborn st and i remember when it came on...my boss just came back from the pub from his lunch and turned on the tv in the shop and we were all glued till the police decided to shut down london...so we were sent home...remember staying up till the early hrs watching it all unfold but geezus when the towers came down my heart almost stopped.

RIP to those who lost their lives in that tragedy and those pics in the OP post just brings it all back as i remember quite vividly as a youngster we went up to the observation deck...awesome but sadly gone too soon.

I thought it was a movie but then it hit my head 2 seconds later it was for real.

I broke down after seeing happening in nyc.

Like pretty much everyone I still vividly remember that day. What was a quiet day shift turned out to be very, very busy 24 hour shift.

The religion of peace.

Obvious liberal appeaser is obvious.

I pity your blindness.

I pity you and your generalisation tbqh...no need to make such a silly comment you silly little ignorant troll...you and DD would make a lovely couple together;)

Islam is a religion of peace.

Those who twist it to commit atrocities seem to have a lack of basic understanding of the Qu'ran.

For example, the Qu'ran does not, as I understand it, promise paradise with numerous virgins if you die for your cause.

Secondly, it forbids innocents being killed for your cause and mentions that not a tree or blade of grass shall be killed also. Indiscriminate suicide bombing tends to ignore that.

I'm sure that some of our Muslim posters will comment on that or put me right if I am wrong.

Von as much as your right, your honestly wasting your time and breath trying to explain it to the ignorant few in here.

Terrible tragedy, I still have a lot of the news papers, this picture will always stay in my mind,

A tragic day indeed. Was at home watching the tv, when the news popped up. I Initially though it was some rant about a video game advert.

Pics of the falling man just show how bad it was on the inside. To commit suicide rather than stay in there. Horrible.

Can't believe some muslims were trying to sell pictures of the moment of impact, like its some sort of trophy! Should be shot.
