new images of 9/11 released

I still remember where I was. I was in Nice airport boarding my plane to go back to the UK. I saw what I thought was a trailer for a new movie... sadly it was actually a CNN report of a plane having crashed into the WTC. The 2nd one hadn't crashed by the time I was on board the plane. We were delayed coming into London owing to the sudden increase in terror threat. Only when I landed did I have the time to absorb the enormity of what had just occured. What a tragedy. :( That picture of people jumping is particularly chilling, having been 1st on site on a couple of total malfunctions at dropzones - it really does send a shiver down my spine :(

are they not just souvenir photos though from people trying to make money. Not a trophy.

Don't know what the hell they are, but they are still there to this day trying to flog them. Not just postcards, actual framed pictures as well.

I could barely believe my eyes.

I was on the way home when it happened got in and my family were just glued watching the news was shocked when I saw the title run across the bottom of the screen, sad times RIP to all

I was in college at the time of the attacks, and remember people mentioning things about planes hitting the Whitehouse, bombs and so on, but dismissed it as nonsense, a vast exaggeration on what was probably a relatively minor civil aviation accident. However, when my dad picked me up that afternoon I got into the car and somewhat flippantly mentioned it, only then did I hear what was on the radio. I got home just in time to watch the second plane hit, live.

It's one of those things you'll never forget, even the trivial details. I'd just gotten back from the lunchtime shift at the pub I worked at, before the second plane went in, and was watching it on TV. These deliverymen turned up to deliver a sideboard and we watched it for about five minutes together. There wasn't much else discussed that night in the pub.

I was watching Neighbours at home as it was a couple of weeks before I was due to start uni, as soon a Neighbours finished the news broke. I don't think I changed the channel until late in to the evening.

My brother was fixing a photocopier in London when the news broke over the office radio. One of the ladies screamed as her daughter worked in the building. The who office and my brother were desperately calling her phones, sending her emails hoping to find out whether she had got out but got no response.

He had to go to another site, left the company not long after so never found out whether the daughter had survived, we like to think she did.

It's hard not knowing. My dad used to talk to a barman at the restaurant/bar at the top of the North tower a lot when he went over there a few times. He never found out if he survived or not.

I was working in an electrical store ( not sure I can name it ) and all of the tellys suddenly changed to it. Then people from off the street started comin in and soon the place was packed with people, seeing it on 30 different tellys was insane.

I think it was in some film with eddie murphy where he said its strange how we yawn at creation but stop and stare in awe at destruction. How very true.
